Privacy promise
Verified privately. Connected safely. Your identity and your dream live in two separate layers.
What is public
- • A display name you choose — it does not have to be your real name.
- • Your borough and, if you choose, your neighborhood. Never an exact address.
- • Your dream or offer, its category, and the interests you tag.
What stays private
- • Legal name, email, phone number, and any ID verification method.
- • Anything you write in the private notes of a verification or help request.
- • Accessibility report photos, which are stored in a private folder only you and staff can read.
Who can see private details
Only trained Dream Connectors, and only when reviewing a submission or a potential match. Private details are never shown on a public profile, on the Dream Map, or to another New Yorker.
Location privacy
Map pins are placed at neighborhood level with a small random offset. We never publish exact addresses, and you should never include one in a public post.
Your choices
You can withdraw a dream, decline a match, or stop at any stage without explanation. Ask a Dream Connector to remove your data and we will delete it.
