Community guidelines

Everyone who shares a dream or offers help agrees to these. Dream Connectors enforce them.

1. Meet in public, at least the first time
Libraries, community centers, cafés, and older-adult centers are good first meeting places. Tell someone you trust where you are going.
2. Never send or accept money
No cash, no transfers, no gift cards, no deposits. Any request for money is a red flag — report it to your Dream Connector immediately.
3. Keep personal contact details out of public posts
No phone numbers, emails, exact addresses, or social handles in a dream, offer, or accessibility report. Introductions happen through a Dream Connector.
4. Consent comes first
Both sides must agree before an introduction is made, and either side can stop at any point without giving a reason.
5. No professional advice in disguise
Neighbors can share experience and point to resources. Legal, medical, and financial decisions belong with qualified professionals and city services.
6. Be honest about what you can offer
Say what you can realistically do and when. A small, reliable offer helps more than a large one that falls through.
7. Respect accessibility and dignity
Ask before helping, use the words people use for themselves, and never photograph a person in an accessibility report.
